When in doubt, t r a v e l

doubt travel

Life is moving full-speed ahead at the moment. My final classes are behind me, and graduation is a week away… but I’m still so mentally exhausted from the year that I haven’t even had a chance to step back and enjoy the satisfaction of being completely free. I’m calling this sensation the “undergrad hangover” because I feel a little dizzy, very tired and somewhat confused.

This is such an exciting time in my life and yet I can’t help but hold onto this tiny shred of doubt that’s making me wonder how I’m going to manage the next few months. I need to find a new job, move to a brand new city (more on this later), and for the first time since I was four years old, I will not be starting school in September. In other words, it’s utter madness over here.

So naturally, instead of taking the time to find a job, settle in a new city and come to terms with the end of this chapter in my life… I’m jetting off on an adventure.

I made a promise to myself a few years ago that I would treat myself to a long trip to Europe after graduation. Having this trip motivating me in the back of my mind has helped me get through the past few years and it’s incredible that everything is falling into place.

We leave for Europe in under a month and will be gone until the end of July, which means that the interior design side of this blog is going to be a little shafted for the time being. Living as a nomad in a carry-on for two months isn’t exactly conducive to DIYs and decor posts. But have no fear, all this planning and travel inspiration means that I’ve got a list of blog post ideas in my bullet journal that are ready to go.

This is a monumental trip for me. I can’t believe I finally get to travel to places I’ve been dreaming and reading about my whole life. I haven’t taken a vacation since high school so this holiday is long overdue. I’d love recommendations for places to visit, or even to meet up in person if you live in one of the cities I’m visiting!

I hope you’re doing well,

sincerely,rowan logo
