Fear

We may all have aspirations and dreams. Those ideas that keep us up at night, playing themselves out perfectly in our head as we envision how amazing it would feel to actualize them. At night, we are passionate and fixated on our goals, and when we wake up in the morning we are met head on with reality.
Or is it fear?

Fall Favourites: Beauty Products

I’m not ready to say that fall is completely gone… But we did have snow the other day that stayed on the ground for most of the morning before melting. Before this wonderful season comes to a close, I thought that I should pick five of my most used products this fall season and talk about them on here!

Taking Your Time

At the beginning of the summer I wrote a post called “A Look Back: First Year. I spent a lot of time talking about what I did in my first year of university to help me get through the workload and all of the changes I was getting used too. Looking back on all of the things that helped me last year, I have to say that everything has drastically changed this year. If first year was a transition, second year has been an even bigger one.

Change it Up

As I sat down at my desk today for the first time in a while, I realized how important it is to change things up every once in awhile. The weather has been getting progressively colder and I’ve found myself gravitating to the warm mass of pillows and blankets on my bed when it’s time to be productive instead of allowing myself to work in front of my window.

Autumn walk with Adam!

Halifax is beautiful in the fall. Yes, I know I just explained how wet and gloomy it can be here. But when the sun is out and the leaves are in full colour; there is nothing nicer than going on a walk around the neighbourhood. My boyfriend Adam came and took a special visit out to see me a few weeks ago. We spent an afternoon with my new Canon and went out to explore Halifax! Here are some pictures from our outing.

And then summer was over…

Well well well. It seems like we have made it to the middle of September! I feel as if I went away for camping and blinked and found myself sitting in class in Halifax. Isn’t it crazy how quickly summer passes by?

Weekly Highlights

After a really nice weekend, I had no interest in going to work on Monday. But as motivation, I told myself that if I got through the day, I’d be one step closer to enjoying my Grandma’s pie on Canada Day! It worked!

Reaching 95!

Can you imagine celebrating your 95th birthday? To be able to look back on all those years that you have lived and think about the years to come? At 18, it seems impossible that I’ll live that long. But if I do, I can only hope that I’m just as elegant and graceful as my Great Great Aunt Jess.

Surviving First Year

In grade 11, I went to a meeting where several alumni came in and shared their tips for First Year. I remember furiously trying to write down everything they said to me, and later even copying it down in a notebook I had designated for school searching and making decisions. Flipping through that little book now, it is funny thinking about how their advice stuck with me through University. Here are some of the things that stuck with me.

A Look Back: First Year

Now that I’m on summer vacation, I’ve spent a lot of time looking back on my first year of University. I love looking back and trying to piece together my favourite moments, the amazing learning experiences and the road bumps that made it the year that it was. As cliché as it may sound, it was definitely a rollercoaster; full of fast paced ups and downs that left me with a mixture of shock and excited adrenaline.
