Navy Bedroom Decor
As I mentioned yesterday, I’m hoping to redecorate my bedroom while I’m home in Atlanta! The room is painted a gorgeous shade of navy blue, and I have some really nice pieces of white furniture, which means that I have a really strong base to work with! All I need to do is put some pictures up and get some new bedding.
I’ve been looking on Pinterest and Polyvore for navy bedroom ideas and all I can come up with are preppy or nautical styled rooms that just don’t really work for me. I love the coral and navy colour combination, but I’m not into chevron or preppy styling because I find it too matchy-matchy.. Does that make sense? I scoured the internet for new colour schemes and came up with the one in my set below! The colours are a navy, poppy red, turquoise, grey and mossy green.

I know that I want white bedding with some sort of navy detail along the edges and found this set from Pottery Barn that would work really well. But the price isn’t right for me so I’m going to do some shopping at HomeGoods, Target and TJ Maxx to see if I can find something similar at a reasonable price.
I also know that I want to have a slight Oriental influence in the room to emphasize the pieces I brought back from China in 2013. My inspiration came from the big shadow box I made to remember my trip and the bronze Buddha head I bought on antique street in Shanghai. I don’t want the theme to be overly Chinese, however I do love the look of clustered ginger jars and the pattern on the little red boxes I found online. I’m pretty pleased with idea number one! I’m hoping the colours I picked will add some freshness to the room and keep it appropriate for all seasons.
I’m not finished searching for the perfect look for my bedroom turned guest room. I’ll keep you posted on my ideas!
Where do you find your decor inspiration?
Sincerely, Rowan xo
