I want to start off by thanking my new friend Mikayla at thatluckieone for tagging me to do this post! I thought it would be a really good idea because my 50 Facts post only skims the surface. There are lots of new people stopping by my blog, and I wanted to share a little bit about myself! It is quite long, so grab a cup of tea and enjoy!
1. Are you named after someone?
I’m not specifically named after anyone in my family or one person, but my parents chose my first and middle name so that my initials would be REM (Rowan Emily Morrissy) like one of their favourite bands!
2. When was the last time you cried?
Today actually! But it was because I was laughing so hard at Zoe Sugg’s vlog and I started to tear up. Quite honestly though if I am stressed about school, or see a YouTube video of a cute baby, or watch a Disney movie I will probably tear up. It really doesn’t take much.
3. Do you have kids?
I definitely do not have kids! I’m only 20 right now, and am in no hurry to have kids. But I am excited to have them someday 🙂
4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I’d like to think that I would! I’m pretty laid back and laugh a lot which are two things that I usually look for in a friend. I also find it quite easy to talk to strangers and am always open to having new conversations. Yesterday I spoke with a man about cameras for about 20 minutes while taking the bus. He was so nice!
5. Do you have a guilty pleasure?
This is probably the third time that my chip obsession has come up on my blog, but I am obsessed with Ruffles Sour Cream and Onion chips! I can eat a whole bag by myself (and I usually regret it later).
6. Do you like your handwriting?
Sometimes! My notes for class can get messy if my profs speak really quickly. But my planner is my pride and joy. I always keep my writing neat and tidy and love colour coding all of my assignments and appointments with highlighters. My handwriting is something I’ve been working on my whole life because it was my goal as a kid to have pretty writing.
7. What is your favourite cereal?
……. I really don’t like cereal. But breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and nothing makes me happier than eggs on toast, bacon and hashbrowns with a hot cup of tea.
8. What is the first thing you notice about people?
I feel like journalism has taught me to pay attention to body language because you can gage someone’s comfort level, what they are thinking (to an extent) and if they actually want to talk to you. I now notice right away if people are having an off day or are in a good mood, and can spot a fake smile from a mile away.
9. What color are your eyes?My eyes are blue.. Sometimes darker blue, and sometimes turquoise depending on the lighting and what I am wearing. They also have little green/orange flecks in them.
10. Scary movies or happy endings?Happy movies! I can’t remember the last time I watched a scary movie… Criminal Minds and Breaking Bad are scary enough (sometimes far too scary for me). I love a good chick flick, but am also drawn to period dramas.
11. Favorite TV show?
I go through fazes, but right now I really love Nashville and Pretty Little Liars (I just want to know what happens!). Adam and I watched all of Criminal Minds together which I found really interesting. Oh and The Mindy Project! It makes me laugh so hard.
12. Summer or winter?
Summer, summer, summer. I am perpetually cold and even hate putting the air conditioning in the summer. Halifax has an extremely long winter from late October to late April and it really gets me down. I can’t wait for summer swims at Crystal Crescent Beach and pretty summer dresses.
13. Hugs or kisses?
I am definitely a hugger. Unless you run away, I will probably give you a big hug. My friends can definitely vouch for the cuddly side of me.
14. What’s the furthest you’ve been away from home?
Sometimes I think about how far away I live from my parents while I’m away at school and I think I’m crazy. The distance from Halifax to Atlanta is 2,779km. But I did go to China in 2013, which definitely takes the cake. Home to me is definitely more about the people than the place because I’ve moved around so many times. I cannot wait to travel around the world!
15. Do you have special talents?
I don’t know if it’s a special talent, but I love singing and writing songs. It’s been a few years since it was a top priority but music is still a huge part of my life!
16. Where were you born?
I was actually born in Halifax, NS! But I grew up in Toronto, ON.
17. What are your hobbies?
Interior design, sketching, playing piano/guitar, singing, blogging, photography, thrifting and visiting antique markets (to name a few…).
18. Do you have any pets?
Back home I have a cute little pup named Willow! He is the most depressed dog you will ever meet and makes me giggle because he always looks so sad for no reason. I love going home because he always sleeps on my bed and loves to play with me.
19. Favorite movie?
I’m so bad at picking favourites. Recently I watched “The Imitation Game” for the second time and really loved it. Disney movies are my go-to if I’m feeling nostalgic.
20.What color is your car?
My vehicle of choice is my beautiful light blue bicycle! I don’t have my drivers license yet……
21. What did you want to be when you grow up?
When I was little I thought I was going to be a combination of Avril Lavigne and Hannah Montana. I was going to write music, and perform in concerts all over the world! I also wanted to be an interior designer. Maybe one of these things will come true!… I’m still rooting for the Hannah Montana dream.

LOL when I read this I thought you meant Halifax in the UK! Took me a min to clock Nova Scotia is actually in the US! But since you’re intent on travelling the world, maybe the UK version of your home town should be on your list haha! (It’s probably nothing like it, but I’m pretty sure Ed Sheeran was born there if that counts… ;)) xxx
Check again! I’m in Nova Scotia, Canada! Haha but no worries! I am so excited to travel to the UK in the next few years, and will definitely try to make it out to the other Halifax’s in the world as well!
