Friday Feeling | 9

happy things

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is enjoying their very first week of summer! Last week I spent a lot of time complaining about the dreary weather in Halifax, but this week has been beautiful! It’s such a pity that I work during the day because I usually miss most of the hot sun, but I’m trying to get out as much as possible anyway. The sun has already put me in a better mood, and it prompted me to get out a lot more this week!

‘Me’ Time!

Adam was playing in a tournament all of last weekend and so I had the house to myself! I took advantage of the lovely weather and went downtown to do some shopping, and even went out for a little lunch. It was nice being able to take my time shopping and do things on my own schedule. I spent the evenings watching girly movies like “About Time” and reading. It felt so good!

Finding Dory!

After waiting 13 years for this movie to come out, myself and a theatre packed full of other anxious millennials filled the theatre in downtown Halifax anxious to be transported back to our childhood. Finding Dory did not disappoint! It made me cry and giggle many many times and I left the theatre wishing I could go back to see it again. I had a lovely time with my friend Jen, and I think we would both agree that our 8 year old selves would have loved it as well.

Flying to Ontario!

Instead of waiting until July to drive to Ontario, I’ve decided to fly home this Sunday. My Poppa had surgery last week and I thought I’d use my Air Canada voucher to book a flight to stay with him and my Grandma to help out during his recovery. He’s doing alright at the moment, but I think it will be nice for me to visit and hopefully cheer him up.

Catching up with Family!

I feel like I’ve talked to so many family members this week. I made sure to call my other grandparents and Aunt’s to let them know that I would be in Ontario so that I can finally catch up with everyone! I spent about a half hour talking to my Aunt Pat and we made plans to go to antique markets together. It made me realize how much I miss my family living out here.

Top off, doors off!

With all the beautiful weather we have had the top and the doors off of Adam’s jeep for most of the week. We took a windy ride around the coast today stopping for a small walk on the seaside to enjoy the sun Β and the warm summer weather. It always feels so good to drive around blasting music with the wind blowing all around us. The roads outside of the city are beautiful to drive down, and I love seeing all the beautiful Nova Scotian countryside. We finished the lovely day with a BBQ on our patio πŸ™‚

How was your week?

Sincerely, Rowan
