It’s been a month since we left Toronto, and it’s weird how moving from city to city has become our new “routine”. We’ve already been to Greece, Italy, Germany, and France, and now we have a couple weeks to explore the U.K.! Here are some of the highlights from the last two weeks.
01 | Strolling through Venice
Venice was always on my travel wish list, and I’m so happy we found the time to stop by. We were told by many people that you don’t need more than a day to explore Venice so we only booked 24 hours and I really wish we’d spent more time. I’m going to write a whole blog post about it like I did with Athens, so you’ll hear more about it then.
02 | Catching up in Hamburg
We were only in Germany for a few days (we’re definitely going back someday) but we managed to have a really nice visit with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins who have been living in Hamburg for the past two years. They live in a beautiful house on the river and we had an amazing time taking the ferry into town and exploring the city. It was a much-needed break because we felt so at home in their house! Family is the best.
03 | The City of Lights
I have been dreaming of Paris since I was a little kid! Our visit was far too short (only two days) and even though it got off to a rocky start with a dodgy Airbnb, we had a lot of fun. It was one of my favourite cities that we’ve visited so far! My absolute favourite part of the trip was when I dragged Adam to see the Eiffel Tower at night because he didn’t believe me when I said it sparkled. I’ve never been so happy to prove him wrong. The sight of the Eiffel Tower lit up and sparkling made me smile for hours after it ended.
04 | Sweet treats in Paris
One simply does not go to Paris without eating amazing food! While everything we ate was incredible, I have to give a shoutout to the amazing Maison George macarons that we bought on our second day. When compared against Laduree, I think that Maison George has to win! They’re deliciously soft and flavourful and they’re half the price of Laduree.
05 | Exploring England
We’ve been in London since Monday and tomorrow we’re going to Brighton! We have so many mini trips planned while we’re in the U.K. and I’m so excited to see more of this beautiful country. It’s been so nice to have English everywhere we go and even though I’ve never been here before, I already feel at home here.
I’m really behind (like really behind) on editing vlogs and photos which is why I haven’t uploaded in a while, but we just haven’t had a lot of time to sit around on our laptops! Life is going full speed ahead.
We have big plans for the weekend and I hope you do too!
