We’re in Greece! It took over 20 hours to get here, but it feels totally worth it. It’s a little overwhelming considering I know about two words in Greek. But saying “Souvlaki” and “Moussaka” over and over again will only get me lunch and dinner so I think I have some work to do.
But let’s back it up a touch:
01 | Dinner at Dundas Square
I finally got a change to pay a visit to Dundas Square when my Dad was in Toronto for business. We had dinner at a restaurant down the street from the craziness and spend some time chatting about my trip! It’s always fun to see him; I swear we could talk for a couple days straight without running out of things to say. After dinner, I taught him how to take a boomerang with the flashing lights of Yonge-Dundas beaming behind us.
02 | Muji Toronto
I heard about Muji through YouTube because all the beauty guru’s use their organizers for makeup storage. I’d completely forgotten that Toronto has a Muji store and stumbled across it on my way to meet my Dad. With only 10 minutes before closing, I scrambled to look quickly at everything they had and then spent about $25! The stationary is unreal and I’m already obsessed with my new 0.5 gel pens. I’m DEFINITELY going back when I get home! Most of the things came on my trip so let me know if you want me to show you guys what I picked up.
03 | Pamper Day
I believe the last time I got a mani-pedi was for Prom four years ago! But that had to change because I wasn’t about to go on an extended summer vacation without pretty toes. My friend Forest (check out her online community, herHABITAT) and I decided to have a little pamper day to prepare for my trip! I got shellac for the very first time and am impressed with how smooth and strong my nails feel! With a light pink on my fingernails and periwinkle blue on my toes, I was ready to jet off.
04 | Vlogging
Wednesday was my first official vlogging day! I tried to capture moments from our travel day as we made our journey from Toronto to Athens, and that vlog is up now! Vlogging with my new camera makes it SO much easier! I had a lot of fun filming and editing little bits from my day and I can’t wait to look back on the videos years from now.
05 | Adventures in Greece
I still cannot believe that we are here. This morning, we walked through sweet-smelling olive groves in the countryside that looked straight out of a fairytale. Then, we drove to Athens and then spent some time wandering the busy streets trying not to look clueless as we searched for souvlaki (at least one of my vocab words came in handy). We crashed a little in the early evening and have been home for the time being researching what to see tomorrow whilst eating copious amounts of fresh watermelon.
Life has never been sweeter. I hope your week was as good as mine.
