Friday Feeling | 20

friday

It’s about time I brought these weekly posts back. I was scrolling through my archives reading my previously named “Five Happy Thing’s” blog posts, and it was so fun to look back and reminisce on little things I probably wouldn’t have remembered if I hadn’t written them down. There is so much going on in my life right now that I know a year from now I’ll be happy to have these blog posts to look back on.

If you follow me on social media you’d know that life has been a little hectic lately, which means that we’re going to play catch up.

01 | Graduation

I’m very proud to say that I am now a University of King’s College alum! My family flew in for the ceremony and I was so grateful to have them there with me. It was definitely a surreal moment walking up to receive my diploma and I’m sure I’ll remember that moment forever. It still hasn’t quite sunk in that I’m done school. I still feel in denial even though my diploma is next to me right now and I’ve already left Halifax.

02 | Leaving Halifax behind

I’ve come to call Halifax home these past few years and was sad that I had to spend the last few days furiously packing and cleaning my flat instead of enjoying my final days in the city with my family. I’ve made a promise to myself that I will go back whenever I can, and cannot express how grateful I am to the people who made Halifax feel like home. What am I going to do without the ocean?

03 | Open Door Policy with Alyssa Walsh

I met Alyssa through behuman, and have really enjoyed getting to know her better! A couple weeks ago, we went for a walk in Point Pleasant together and spent a lot of time talking about the positive and negative aspects of social media. We both agree that social media is a place for people to be creative, but we also feel that the pressure to act/be/look a certain way can make it an incredibly toxic environment. Alyssa just wrote a blog post and put out a video about finding ways to make social media about connecting to people through honest and open communicating, and I love the message she is putting out there!

04 | Exploring Ottawa

Moving from Halifax means getting to know a new city: Ottawa! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it here, but Adam and I are officially moving to Ottawa in the fall. We spent some time this week exploring a little bit and we even picked a neighborhood we want to live in. Getting a chance to get to know the city a little bit more made me feel so much better about moving. It’s such a relief knowing that things are going to work out.

05 | New vlogging camera

I have been thinking about this camera for over a year now and I’m so excited to say that it’s finally mine! Almost all the YouTubers I watch use the Canon G7x Mark ii for vlogging, and after doing a lot of research I decided that it was the only camera I could consider. I picked it up on Tuesday and my excitement levels are still sky-high. So… new camera…. new camera that is usually used for vlogging… what could this possibly mean?

We’re currently in Toronto for a week before we go on our trip to Europe. It feels so good to be home, and I’m excited to do a bit of last minute shopping before we head on our way! I could scream I’m so excited!

I hope you had a lovely week! Happy Friday!

Sincerely, Rowan
