I have been looking to having a free weekend for the past few weeks. There has been so much going on that we’ve barely had the chance to take a deep breath and take it all in. As life will have it, I now find myself bedridden with a nasty head cold and a fever. Isn’t this how it always happens? After the chaos of being busy it finally all hits right when you get a break. Maybe this post full of monumental happy things will cheer me up!
My 21st birthday!
I love birthdays! I love celebrating my birthday and I love celebrating other people’s birthdays. They are always filled with joy and surprises and my 21st was no exception. I had a lovely quiet birthday with Adam, and an ever lovelier birthday party with my friends Jennifer and Eleanor. It was perfect!
I have been spoiled this year! On my birthday Adam gifted me with a zoom lens and a stabilizer, and my parents send a new fall jacket and ankle boots AND a sewing machine! The sewing machine came as a surprise in the mail today and I am over the moon. Halloween, here I come!
Down & Ready!
You may have seen on my Twitter (follow me here! I’m on there all the time!) but Adam and I are fostering a greyhound! Her racing name is Down & Ready which I know is weird, but we’ve been calling her Downy because she is so soft. I’m sure whoever adopts her with come up with something more original! She is smart and stubborn, but very sweet and loving. It’s going to be hard to say goodbye!
Let me start this off by saying I MADE IT! In first year I couldn’t imagine how it would feel to be a fourth year student, but here I am! This year is going to be challenging and fun. I’m actually quite excited for everything that is coming up! I’m sure you’ll hear more about this later.
I have been dreaming about building a desk since March. We were away so much in the summer that it didn’t actually happen until last week! We finally got our wood cut, and put it together. It looks amazing. I will have a blog post all about my little office book as soon as I get it a bit more organized. There is still a box or two to be unpacked in our house, but we are getting there! We also built a bar for our kitchen, and a hanging light (hint, hint).
This is a bonus one because I haven’t done a Happy Things post in a few weeks, but I dyed my hair blonde a few weeks ago! I’ve been meaning to do it for a while, and finally plucked up the courage to do it. I’ve never dyed my whole head before and which is why I was nervous, but I’m so glad I did! With Kayla Short’s recommendation I went to Thumpers Salon in Halifax and had my hair done by Kelly. She was so awesome!
Have a great week!
