We are back in Halifax! It was such a bittersweet ending to a wonderful trip home. On one hand, I’m happy to be home but on the other hand, I already miss my lovely Toronto friends and family. My friends in Toronto inspire me and make me so proud. Over the past few years everyone has come so far, and I love catching up with them to see how they’ve grown into incredible people. I am so blessed! This weekly post is going to be a combination of the past two weeks because I missed last week (sorry!). In my defence, I was on the road and spent the whole week packing up. But enough of my excuses… Let’s explore all the wonderful things that made me smile recently.
Aberfoyle Antique Market!
I told myself that I would spend every Sunday at Aberfoyle Antique Market with Aunt Pat while in Toronto, but only managed to go once. Walking through the stalls and chatting with vendors makes me feel so peacefully happy and going with my Aunt makes it all the more fun. I feel like it’s our own little place. We always go together and I think we work really well when it comes to spotting treasures! She knows what I look for, and I know what she likes. It’s always the perfect place for us to catch up and get the giggles… Which happens all the time because we always find strange and funny things within bins full of junk. I like that she totally understands my style and will always help me get a good bargain.
Getting my G1!
I DID IT! I don’t think I’ve been this proud of myself in ages. I have been thinking about getting my license since I was 16, but have been too scared to do it. All my friends and family members have been telling me to get it for years, but I was finally at a point where I actually wanted to get it. I’ve decided that I rather like the idea of driving.. Especially if that means that I can take myself to thrift stores and markets without having to bother Adam. No. Seriously. That’s the reason why I want my license.
New iPhone SE!
Another big moment for me! I am the very proud owner of my own brand new iPhone! I have wanted an iPhone since I got my very first job at 15, and 5 years later my time is finally here! I opted for the iPhone SE in rose gold and I do believe that it is the most beautiful phone I ever ever laid eyes on. I keep staring at it because I can’t believe it’s mine. I know most of the world probably takes these things for granted because almost everyone has an iPhone these days, and it probably seems silly to most people that I’m so excited about this. But to me, it feels like I’ve finally earned it and I can truly appreciate it because I’ve been wanting an iPhone for so long.
Lazy Sunday in Halifax!
After our two days of driving, it felt amazing to stay in bed all day reading and drinking tea on Sunday. I started and finished both “The Cursed Child” and “Milk & Honey” by Rupi Kaur. While I’m glad I read “The Cursed Child”, it definitely doesn’t even touch the original Harry Potter series. “Milk & Honey” however, was beautifully written and I will probably have it at my bedside table so I can re-read it whenever I like. If you haven’t read it, you have my recommendation! It was amazing. It felt so good to indulge all day without worrying about my long list of to-dos.
I read on Kayla Short’s blog that Value Village was having a Canada-wide 50% sale and knew that I had to go. It was extremely busy, but I managed to come away with some awesome items ( I posted a picture to Twitter if you’d like to see what I found). With my luck, I got to the cash with a cart full of homeware and books only to find out the the 50% was on everything but homeware and books. Sighhhh. I was too excited about everything in my cart that I came away with all of it anyway. I have a few ideas on what I want to do with my new treasures, and am thinking about making a video to showcase how I’m going to revamp my vintage finds.
Well, that was my two weeks summed up! Hope everyone has an amazing weekend.
Talk to you soon!
