Five Happy Things #12

happy things

I honestly woke up this morning thinking that it was Wednesday. It wasn’t until I took out my phone that I realized that it’s Friday! What a happy surprise! The week has flown by, which is why it’s probably a good idea for me to sit down and think of all the things I’ve done.

Eaton Centre!

I had a full Saturday to myself and decided to go shopping downtown for some clothes and also to find the H&M Home Store! I used to hate the idea of shopping alone, but now I love putting on my iPod and walking around the busy mall. Now I love that I can go at my own pace, try on clothes without worrying about making people wait and come and go as I please. If you’ve never spent an afternoon at a mall by yourself, I highly recommend the experience.

Dinner with family!

Although the circumstances weren’t ideal, I spent all of Sunday with my Mom’s side of the family. I saw some of my cousins, both of my grandparents and had a wonderful time talking with my Great Aunt’s and Uncles. There is never a dull moment! I had been almost a year since I sat down and had a meal with everyone, and I had an amazing time laughing and catching up with everyone. Being around family always puts me in a great mood, and I left feeling relaxed and happy.

Trip to London (again)!

I also got to see my other grandparents! I stayed with them in London while Adam and his Dad played in a tournament. It was nice because I’ve gotten used to their routine, and it’s amazing to see the progress my Poppa has made since his surgery. They are both doing well, and I always enjoy spending time with them. And I’m in love with their daily 4 o’clock tea ritual.

Writing!

I feel like writing has definitely been a highlight this week because I’ve felt so much more motivated to blog which makes me really happy because I was probably in a bit of a rut. After writing my last post, I had this surge of new blog post ideas and spent an afternoon frantically writing ideas down in between various tasks. I’ve finally gotten into a routine of writing three posts a week without stressing about it, and have a list of planned posts for the next month.

Red dress!

I picked up a red maxi dress from Old Navy (of all places) on Saturday and have already worn it twice! I always assumed that because I’m short that I should stay away from maxi dresses, but now I find them so comfortable and definitely want to buy more. The material is very light, and it feels like the perfect thing to wear on a hot summer day. I like that I don’t have to worry about the wind blowing it around, and I think that the vibrant red is such a nice change from my usual white with jeans uniform.

Did you guys have a good week? Let me know down in the comments!

Sincerely, Rowan
